Emergency First Aid for those working with Children & Young People – Scotland

Duration: 6 Hours (usually over two days)

This is a longer course, aimed principally at Foster Carers, but equally applicable to parents, creche and nursery workers, or indeed, anyone who has regular contact with children.

Course content includes the management of an unconscious casualty; adult, child and baby CPR, casualty assessment, choking and hypoxia, bleeding and bandaging, burns, as well as boney and soft tissue injuries.

We also look at spinal injuries, seizures, effects of heat and cold, shock, head injuries and stroke. Also covered are a variety of medical conditions such as croup, asthma, anaphylaxis, poisoning, diabetes, meningitis and sickle cell anaemia. There is plenty of time for hands on practice for CPR, bandaging, etc.
